Hello! My name is Lorelei Zagol. I am a first-year from Danville, Virginia, and I am planning to major in Computer Science and Japanese Studies.
I wanted to do this MayX because I have always enjoyed puzzles, codes, and other mind and logic-based games. Escape rooms are something that my family and I have enjoyed doing together, and we do them very frequently when we go on vacation.
I am most looking forward to the hands-on aspects of this MayX and getting to solve codes for ourselves. Recently I have been decoding a book and associated website as part of an ARG which has been really fun. As the two will likely use similar methods, I believe that I will enjoy solving codes in class.
I enjoy British pop culture such as Sherlock Holmes, Jane Austen, and Dr. Who, so getting to go to England, particularly to London, is very exciting. I hope to go to the British Museum and see a West End show while I am here. I am also looking forward to going to Bletchley Park and Cambridge.
