Hi! My name is Margaret McCollum, and I am a rising senior at Furman majoring in Philosophy on the Pre-Law track. I am originally from New Bern, NC, but have loved calling Greenville home for the past few years!
I chose this MayX after taking Ideas in Mathematics with Dr. Millichap last fall. I did not anticipate enjoying that course (no offense, Dr. Millichap), but it really surprised me! Even though I have never really been a "math person," I enjoyed all the codebreaking and problem-solving we did, which led me to this MayX. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone on the trip, as well as learning more about codebreaking and the history behind it.
In London, I am looking forward to:
1. Bletchley Park -- I think this will be super cool to see! They also have a new AI Exhibit, which I think will be very interesting.
2. All of the shopping! I love to shop, including window shopping, and I think it will be fun to see some of the unique items London has to offer.
3. Notting Hill -- all the colors are so much fun! I think this will be such a cool spot to go to. I have been to London before, but did not go to Notting Hill. It is also my goal to watch the movie, Notting Hill, before we land in London!
